Inside there’s a ballroom-sized secret: private and semi-private spaces for any event, from a birthday to a gala takeover to a few hundred of your favorite people. Our Story
PubKey started as a happy hour. A crew of friends kept taking over the corner of their favorite Greenwich Village dive to argue about the future of money, and when that bar closed during the pandemic, they built a home of their own. PubKey opened in New York in 2022: part neighborhood pub, part media house, all family.
Round two is Washington. New York started feeling cramped, so we found 12,000 square feet in Penn Quarter, a mile from the White House, and opened the doors in January 2026. Two bars, a stage, a podcast studio, a ballroom, and a basement for the intimate stuff. It was built from day one for events: yours included.
