Record a Podcast
PubKey's podcast studio is a purpose-built room for pro-quality audio and video — four Shure SM7B mics, multi-channel recording, three cameras, and studio lighting, all dialed in and ready to roll. Show up with a topic and a guest list; we've got the rest.
Sit down, hit record, let the room handle the rest. Purpose-built for people who take their audio seriously and their setup time lightly. Solo monologues, one-on-ones, or a full table of guests. Clean audio, sharp video, zero excuses.
Space & Atmosphere
- Deep blue curtains wrapping the room for controlled sound and a controlled look
- Four chairs for host and guests
- The PubKey neon behind the table, lit or dark. Some shows want it in frame, some want a neutral backdrop. Your call, and it takes about a second either way.
Cameras
The setup here isn't for show. It's the same kit the pros reach for.
- 3× Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 on OM SYSTEM M.ZUIKO 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO II glass. Micro Four Thirds sensors and a constant f/2.8 through the zoom range, so host, guest, and wide all match. Nobody looks like the third camera.
- Blackmagic ATEM SDI Extreme ISO, an 8-channel switcher. Cut the show live while you record it and every camera still writes its own isolated file. Take the live cut and walk out, or hand your editor every angle.
- 3× Blackmagic Video Assist 5" HDR monitor/recorders, one per camera. Broadcast-quality capture straight to SSD, no compression games.
- 27" operator monitor for framing, levels, and playback before you leave.
Audio
- 4× Shure SM7B on adjustable boom arms. The broadcast standard for a reason. These dynamic mics reject room noise and reflections, so your voice comes through warm and up close while the rest of the world stays out. Arms adjust to any seat, any height, no fuss.
- RØDECaster Pro at the heart of it, capturing every mic on its own track. Independent recordings for each voice, so one loud guest doesn't steamroll the rest of the table in the mix.
Lighting
- 2× Amaran 100d daylight-balanced COB LED fixtures with diffusion domes, throwing soft wraparound light that flatters everyone at the table. No harsh shadows, no interrogation-room energy.
- Overhead ambient softbox for an even base layer. The difference between "shot in a real studio" and "shot in somebody's back room."
Bottom line: you show up with a topic and a guest list. Everything else is already dialed in.
